You're Not Alone

About The Project

Known for his distinctive style that blends various dimensions and lines, Haluk Akakçe's work often explores themes of transformation and the intersection of technology and humanity. Showcasing his works from 2021, he portrayed a time of profound transformation. The pandemic, social media, the internet—all of these have inevitably driven people into isolation in 2021, and communication took place almost entirely through social media. The title of the exhibition, You're Not Alone, invites us to give ourselves the chance to explore and nurture the inner world we all carry within us.

Reflecting on the exhibition, Akakçe said, “There is no such thing as an end—there is change, and you are not alone on this path.” His words highlight how nature and the universe are in constant renewal, and how meaningful change and success often follow difficult periods.

In this exhibition, he presented both abstract and figurative works—featuring fluid lines, shifting silhouettes, and figures with transforming heads, eyes, and bodies. Influenced perhaps by his background in architecture, he observed that when these figures receded behind the frame, they sometimes asserted dominance over one another through the use of color or form.

The artist donated one of his works to TEMA (The Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion), a prominent environmental organization in Turkey dedicated to the protection of natural habitats and the promotion of sustainable land use.
